Our vision

Our story

Fred Cooke is a North Carolina licensed electrician with over 20 years of electrical experience in various residential, commercial and industrial settings. Fred’s interest in wiring and all things electrical and mechanical started with taking apart the family radio without permission! He grew into a builder and creator. Fred started his working career in the family stone business that was founded by his grandparents, Fred Day and Nonnie Bloom Cooke. BloomDay is named in memory of them and to honor their work ethic, love and support.

As Fred continued in his career, he became a mechanic in large industrial settings which included wiring experience. Fred later purchased the family business from his parents and grew that entity into BloomDay Granite and Marble, a stone surfaces contractor. As part of building that business, he spent a great deal of time wiring machinery and facilities. Additionally, throughout his life, he has built and remodeled homes and businesses. Fred brings varied experience, a love of creative problem solving, and a desire to produce an excellent product with each project.

As Fred decided to step back from the stone industry, it was clear his next chapter should still involve entrepreneurship and his love of being a creator. So, he founded BloomDay Electric.
Fred and the BloomDay team are proud to continue the legacy of Fred and Nonnie and to service families and businesses in the Piedmont Triad.
